Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten is a special brand that creates clothing that you never knew you wanted and expands your idea of fashion beyond where you though possible by playing with textures. This brand is the opposite of minimal…. and thank god we have enough of those! Dries is always the very definition of luxurious by utilizing sensual fabrics and rich embellishments …. and I rarely like sequins and beading, but in his hands I am open…. and this collection had me from the first look. Layers of Khaki colored twill silhouettes, camo cargo pants and shorts, bejeweled statement sweatshirts, and oversize sack sweaters….this collection is everything.

Hood By Air

When the Hood by Air show started I was immediately excited, the Wall Street basement setting was dark and cold and the crowd was a good mixture longtime fans and fashion industry insiders. We have been a fan of HBA for years and have been excited that this cult brand has been lifted out the shadows and given the prominence that Shane and his team deserve. When the music started and the first look came down the runway I knew we were seeing  the next phase of Hood By Air. By toning down the branding and ramping up on more wearable high fashion pieces, I think they are looking to take HBA more mainstream…. and I am not mad at it. I am excited to see this brand pop up in more boutiques. The pleated pieces were awesome and I am sure we will see the pleated button up everywhere come Fall… but the outerwear was the star of the show, with a mixture of biker details they married the harder edge with classic silhouettes.  Although I loved this collection what I am more excited to see are the  collections to come.

YES! I am loving a lot about this collection. The graphic leather pieces, the puffer jackets, and the oversize menswear inspired overcoatst.  I wont be able to afford anything because Fendi is definitely out of my budget but I am into this cleaner direction they have been exploring the last two runway shows. And there is something about this color palette that just feels fresh.

Public School

Tomboy sporty grunge to the fullest…. I really loving this public school woman that they showed this season. She is easy, casual, and stylish. The maxi skirts, sporty outerwear, plaid layers are pretty bomb….  and that parka poncho is dope!

Ter Et Batine

This collection is giving me true paratrooper realness and I am loving it! I know wide leg pants have been back in style for a while but I am into these JNCO inspired versions so much.  I have to say this feels more spring to me than fall but whatever I want every piece. NEED!

I do not even know what to say…. when Sacai does outwear it is on another level and this collection is no exception and that Baja remix is insanely fly.

Honorable Mention: Ellery

Ellery is not a brand I check for but after this collection that will change because I am loving everything. The simple and minimal styling and clothing that is menswear inspired with a soft feminine touch…. clothing that I would definitely love to rock. Plus there is something that I am loving about the single white circle earring… I need to DIY a version for myself.

Most Wearable: Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony is vey skilled at making clothes that I actually can see myself wearing everyday, which I definitely mean as a compliment. I respect the brands that inspire me to move out of my fashion comfort zones and look at fashion differently but I love those brands that just get me. All to say this collection is exactly what I want to be wearing right now…. The baggy trousers are the pants I have been dreaming about for the past year or so and the those kodak tees will be everywhere come fall.
